Context

Team project titled “Requirements gathering / Discovering the economic and ecological environment”. The goal was to create a corporate website presenting Capgemini, a digital services company, to middle school students (aged 14–15), while analyzing its digital and ecological transition.

Goals

  • Research and summarize information about the company: business, products and services, organization, competitors, clients, funding, strategy and values.
  • Analyze its digital and ecological transition, its constraints and its benefits.
  • Design a mockup, then build a simple, eco-designed website.
  • Produce a company fact sheet.

Implementation

Phase 1: requirements gathering

In-depth research on Capgemini from a variety of sources, to get a complete and objective view. From it we produced a concise fact sheet, using management and economics vocabulary explained in a way the target audience could follow. The analysis then focused on the company’s initiatives in sustainable development and eco-design.

Phase 2: design and development

We proposed a site architecture based on the information gathered, then made mockups in Whimsical according to the client’s needs. Feedback from the mid-term review helped us refine the mockups. The site was then built in HTML5 and CSS3, with a clean design following eco-design principles, using Visual Studio Code and GitHub for collaboration.

Results

The site meets its goal: presenting the company in an educational way to middle school students, while highlighting its environmental commitments. Above all, this project made me practice turning a client’s need into a site architecture, and explaining things to a non-technical audience.
